ஆழ்வார்களால் மங்களாசனம் செய்யப்பட்ட பெருமாளின் 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் இத்தலமானது 64 வது திவ்யதேசமாகும் . தொண்டைமண்டலத்தில் உள்ள 22 திவ்யதேசங்களில் இத்தலமும் ஒன்று .
திருமாலின் தசாவதாரங்களில் மிகவும் சிறப்பானதும், தனித்துவமானதுமான அவதாரம் நரசிம்ம அவதாரம் தான். இறைவன் எங்கும் நீக்கமற நிறைந்துள்ளான், அசைக்க முடியாத பக்தி மற்றும் நம்பிக்கை உடைய பக்தர்கள் கூப்பிட்ட குரலுக்கு தெய்வம் ஓடி வரும் என்பதை உலகம் அறிய செய்த அவதாரம்.
நாளை என்ற சொல்லே தன்னிடம் கிடையாது என பக்தர்கள் வேண்டிய உடனேயே வந்து அருள் செய்ய கூடிய தெய்வமாக நரசிம்ம மூர்த்தி விளங்குகிறார். நரசிம்மர் எப்படி உக்கிர மூர்த்தியாக இரண்ய வதம் செய்தாரோ, அதை போல் பக்தர்களிடத்தில் கருணாமூர்த்தியாக இருக்கக் கூடியவர். நரசிம்மர் என திருநாமத்தை சொல்லும் போதே தனி தைரியமும், உத்வேகமும் நமக்குள் வரும்.
சோளிங்கர் தலத்தில் 500 அடி உயரமுள்ள கடிகாசலம் என்ற பெரிய மலை (1,305 படிகள்) மீது மூலவரும், அதன் அருகே உள்ள சிறிய மலையில் சங்கு சக்கரத்துடன் ஆஞ்சநேயரும், கீழே உற்சவரும் அருள்பாலிக்கின்றனர். பெருமாள் தரிசனம் முடித்துவிட்டு, பக்தர்கள் ஆஞ்சநேயரை தரிசிப்பது வழக்கம். இத்தலத்தில் ஒரு கடிகை (நாழிகை – 24 நிமிடம்) இருந்தாலே மோட்சம் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
படிகளை கடந்து நாம் சென்றால் ஐந்து நிலை ராஜகோபுரம் வரும் உள்ளே நுழைந்து இடது புறம் சென்றால் கொடிமரம் மற்றும் பலிபீடம் தரிசிக்கலாம் .வலதுபுறம் வரும் வழியாக சென்றால் நாம் கருவறை நுழைவுவாயிலை காணலாம் , அதன் வழியே உள்ளே சென்றால் முதலில் நாம் அமிர்தவல்லி தாயாரை தரிசனம் செய்யலாம் . தாயார் கருணையே வடிவமாக மிக அழகுடன் நமக்கு காட்சிதருகிறார் . அவரை வணங்கிவிட்டு நாம் மூலவர் நரசிம்மரை தரிசிக்கலாம் . இவர் கிழக்கு நோக்கி யோக நிலையில் நரசிம்மர் காட்சிதருகிறார் . இவர் சாளிக்ராம மாலை அணிந்திருக்கிறார் . இவர் சிம்ஹ கோஷ்டாக்ருதி விமானத்தின் கீழ் யோக நரசிம்மர் அருள்பாலித்து வருகிறார். இவரது வடிவத்தை சிலா வடிவம் என்று போற்றுகின்றனர்.
மகாவிஷ்ணு எடுத்த அவதாரங்களிலேயே மிகவும் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தது, நரசிம்மர் அவதாரம். இறைவன் எல்லா இடங்களிலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறார் என்று பறைசாற்றிய அவதாரம் இது. பக்தர்கள் அழைத்த உடனேயே வந்து காட்சிதந்து அவர்களின் துயரங்களை போக்கி வேண்டிய வரங்களை தருவார் .
கார்திகையில் கண் திறக்கும் நரசிம்மர் :
தவக்கோலத்தில் வருடத்தின் 11 மாதங்களும் கண் மூடி அமர்ந்த நிலையில் காட்சி தரும் நரசிம்மர், ஒரே ஒரு மாதத்தில் மட்டும் கண் திறந்த நிலையில் காட்சி தருகிறார். இந்த கார்த்திகை மாதத்தில் மட்டும் தனது கண்ணை திறந்து, தன்னை காண வரும் பக்தர்களை பார்த்த நிலையில் காட்சி கொடுக்கிறார் நரசிம்மர்.
கடிகாசலம் :
இந்த தலத்திற்கு கடிகாசலம் என்றொரு பெயரும் உண்டு. அசலம் என்றால் மலை என்று பொருள். கடிகை என்பது நேரத்தை குறிக்கும் ஒரு அளவீடு. இப்போது நாம் மணி என்பதை அந்த காலத்தில் நாளிகை என்பார்கள். அப்படி ஒரு நாளிகை அல்லது கடிகை என்பது 24 நிமிடங்களை குறிக்கும்.இந்த தலத்தில் 24 நிமிடங்கள் எவர் ஒருவர் இருந்து வழிபடுகிறாரோ அவருக்கு மோட்சம் கிடைக்கும் அளவிற்கு நரசிம்மர் அருளை வாரி வழங்குவார் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. வெறும் 24 நிமிடங்கள் இருந்தாலே மோட்சம் தருவார் என்றால் அதிலிருந்தே இந்த யோக நரசிம்மரின் கருணையை தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.
தலவரலாறு :
சப்தரிஷிகள் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் வாமதேவர், வசிஷ்டர், காஷ்யபர், அத்திரி, ஜமதக்னி, கௌதமர், பரத்வாஜர் ஆகியோருக்கு, நரசிம்ம அவதாரத்தை மீண்டும் காண வேண்டும் என்ற விருப்பம் இருந்தது. அதை நிறைவேற்றும் பொருட்டு, இத்தலத்துக்கு வந்து, திருமாலை நோக்கி தவம் இருந்தனர். விசுவாமித்திரர் இத்தலத்தில் சிறிது நேரம் நரசிம்மரை வழிபட்டு, பிரம்மரிஷி பட்டம் பெற்றதால், அவரைப் போல் உடனே திருமால் தரிசனம் கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்று சப்தரிஷிகள் தவம் செய்ய இத்தலத்தைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தனர்.
உற்சவர் பக்தோசித பெருமாள், சுதாவல்லி, அமிர்தவல்லி எனும் தனது இருதேவியருடன், மலை அடிவாரத்திலிருந்து 2 கி.மீ- தொலைவில் தனிக்கோவில் கொண்டுள்ளார். அங்கு அமிர்தவல்லித் தாயார் தனித்தனி சன்னதி கொண்டுள்ளார். அமிர்த தீர்த்தம், பிரம்ம தீர்த்தம் ஆகியவை பக்தோசித பெருமாள் கோவில் அருகில் உள்ளன.
யோக ஆஞ்சநேயர் :
அருகில் சின்ன மலை என்று அழைக்கப்படும் ஆஞ்சநேயர் வீற்றியிருக்கும் மலை உள்ளது . இங்கு ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு நான்கு திருக்கரங்கள் உள்ளன. ஒரு கையில் சங்கு, ஒரு கையில் சக்கரம் மற்ற இரு கைகளில் ஜெபமாலை உள்ளன.சிறிய மலையிலிருந்து பார்த்தால் யோக ஆஞ்சநேயரின் கண்கள் நேராக பெரிய மலையில் உள்ள யோக நரசிம்மரின் திருவடி நோக்கி அமைந்துள்ளது தெரியும்.
இந்த ஆலயத்தை பராங்குச சோழன் என்ற மன்னன் 3-ம் நூற்றாண்டில் கட்டியிருக்கிறான். எனவே இவ்வாலயம் சோழசிம்மபுரம் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டு, பின்னர் சோளிங்கபுரம் என என்றானது. அதுவே மருவி ‘சோளிங்கர்’ என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

பில்லி, சூனியம் ஆகியவற்றால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் பிரம்மதீர்த்தத்தில் நீராடி மலை மீது அமர்ந்து அருள்பாலிக்கும் யோக நரசிம்மரையும், யோக ஆஞ்சநேயரையும் வணங்கினால் நோய்கள் நீங்கப் பெறலாம் என்பது நம்பிக்கை.

Narasimha opens the eye in Karthika:
Narasimha, who is sitting in the eye for 11 months of the year, is open in a single month. Narasimha is showing the devotees who come to see him in the month of Kartika alone.
Cardiole:
This head also has a name called Kadikasalam. salam means mountain. The clock is a measurement of time. Now we are the bell at that time. It is believed that Narasimha will be given the blessings of the person who is worshiped for 24 minutes at this head. If you are just 24 minutes old, you can find the mercy of this Yoga Narasimha from it.
History:
Vamadevar, Vashishtar, Kashyapar, Atri, Jamadagni, Gautamar and Bharadwajar, the so -called Saptarishas, had the desire to recover the Narasimha incarnation. In order to accomplish it, they came to this place and had meditation towards Tirumala. Since the Vishwamitra worshiped Narasimha for a while and graduated from the Brahmarishi graduation, the Saptarishi chose to meditate to meditate as he should be immediately obtained.
Utsavar Bhaktosita Perumal, Sudhavalli, Amritavalli, with his two-year-old, is 2 km from the foothills of the hill. There, Amritavallith’s mother has a separate shrine. Amrita Theertham and Brahma Theertham are near the Bhaktosita Perumal Temple.
Yoga Anjaneyar:
There is a hill where the Anjaneyar is known as the little hill. There are four Thirukkaras for Anjaneyar here. One hand is the chakra, the wheel of one hand is the prayer on the other two hands.
The temple was built in the 3rd century in the 3rd century. So this temple was called Cholasimpuram and later became known as Sholingapuram. It is called Maruvi ‘Sholingar’.
Remedy:
It is believed that those who are suffering from Billy and Sorcery can get rid of the disease if they worship the Yoga Narasimha and Yoga Anjaneyar, who sits on the hill of the Brahmathirtha.
