திருப்பாற்கடல் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் அழகிய கிராமத்தில் சிவனின் ஆவுடையார் மீது நின்று காட்சி தரும் பிரசன்ன வெங்கடேசப்பெருமாள் கோயில் மற்றும் சயனகோலத்தில் அத்தி ரங்கநாதர் பெருமாள் கோயில் என இரண்டு பெருமாள் கோயில்கள் உள்ளன .
சிவனின் ஆவுடையார் மேல் நின்று காட்சி தரும் பெருமாள் நமக்கு ஹரியும் ஹரனும் ஒன்றே என்ற தாத்பரியத்தை நமக்கு உணர்த்துகிறது . இங்குள்ள அத்தி இரங்கநாதர் 107 வது திவ்யதேசமாக கருதப்படுகிறது. பெருமாளின் 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 107 மற்றும் 108 வது திவ்யதேசங்களான திருப்பாற்கடல் மற்றும் வைகுண்டத்தை நம் பூத உடலோடு சென்று காண இயலாது . ஆதலால் இந்த திருப்பாற்கடல் திவ்ய தலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கும் அத்தி ரங்கநாதரை 107 வது திவ்ய தலமாக பக்தர்கள் நம்புகிறார்கள் .
அத்தி ரங்கநாதர் கோயில் :
மூன்று நிலை ராஜகோபுரம் மிக அழகாக தற்போது கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டு காட்சிகொடுக்கிறது , ராஜகோபுரம் கடந்து உள்ளே சென்றால் ராஜகோபுரத்தை ஓட்டியவாறு விநாயகர் உள்ளார் .அவரை நாம் வணங்கிவிட்டு சென்றால் கொடிக்கம்பம் மற்றும் பலிபீடத்தை நாம் தரிசிக்கலாம் . 24 தூண்களை கொண்ட மகா மண்டபம் உள்ளது , இவ் மண்டபத்தின் மேற்கூரையில் பெருமாளின் தச அவதார சிலைகள் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன . இவ் மண்டத்தின் உள்ள கருடர் சன்னதி உள்ளது .
நாம் அடுத்ததாக அர்த்த மண்டபம் செல்லலாம் , அர்த்தமண்டபத்தில் இருந்து நாம் கருவரையில் வீற்றியிருக்கும் ஆனந்த சயன ரங்கரை தரிசிக்கலாம் . சுமார் 9 அடி நீளமும், 3 அடி உயரமும் உள்ள ஆதிசேஷன் மீது பள்ளிகொண்ட நிலையில் இந்த பெருமாள் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். அவரது திருமுடி அருகே ஸ்ரீதேவியும், திருவடி அருகே பூதேவியும் இருக்க பெருமாளின் நாபியில் எழும் தாமரைத் தண்டின் மீது பிரம்மதேவன் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறார். இவை அனைத்துமே அத்தி மரத்தால் ஆனவை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
மூலவர் அத்தி மரத்தால் ஆனவர் என்பதால், அவருக்கு திருமஞ்சனம் கிடையாது. வருடத்திற்கு ஒருமுறை மட்டுமே தைலக்காப்பு நடைபெறும். இந்த நாட்களில் பெருமாளின் முக தரிசனம் கண்டால் நினைத்த காரியம் கைகூடும் . இந்த பெருமாளை தரிசனம் செய்தால் சித்ரகுப்தன் எழுதி வைத்த நம்முடைய பாவங்கள் நீங்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.

வரலாறு :
ஒருமுறை விஷ்ணு அனந்த சயனத்தில்- சேஷ நாகம் மீது பாற்கடலில் படுத்து உறங்கிக் கொண்டு இருந்தார். அபோது அவர் நாபியில் இருந்து எழுந்த நாபித் தண்டில் பிரும்மா பிறப்பு எடுத்து உலகை சிருஷ்டி செய்யத் துவங்கினார். அவர் பூமிக்குச் சென்று காஞ்சீபுரம் பகுதியில் இருந்த இந்த தலத்தில் ஒரு யாகம் செய்யக் கிளம்பி தனது மனைவியான சரஸ்வதியை அதற்கு உடன் அழைத்தார். ஆனால் சரஸ்வதியோ அவருடன் செல்ல மறுக்கவே, வேறு வழியின்றி பிரும்மா தன்னுடன் காயத்ரி மற்றும் சாவித்திரியை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு சென்று யாகத்தைத் துவக்கினார். ஆகவே கோபமுற்ற சரஸ்வதி வேகவதி என்ற ஒரு நதியாய் உருவெடுத்து, அந்தப் பகுதியில் பாய்ந்து யாகசாலையே மூழ்கடிக்க வந்தவுடன் பிரும்மா விஷ்ணுவை வேண்டிக் கொண்டார். உடனே சற்றும் தயங்காமல் விஷ்ணுவானவர் அங்கு வந்து நதிக்கு நடுவில் சேஷ நாகத்தின் மீது படுத்து நதியின் ஓட்டத்தை ஒரு அணைப் போலத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தி யாகம் நடந்து முடிய அருள் புரிந்தார். அவரை அந்த கோலத்தில் கண்ட சரஸ்வதி கோபம் தணிந்து திரும்பிச் சென்றாள். ஆகவே திருப்பாற்கடலில் தான் சயனித்து இருந்த அதே கோலத்தில் பூமியில் வந்து திருப்பாற்கடல் காட்சியை இங்கு அருளியதினால்தான் இந்த சேஷ்திரத்தின் பெயரும் திருப்பாற்கடல் என ஆயிற்று. அவருக்கு ஸ்ரீ ரங்கநாதர் என்ற பெயரில் ஆலயமும் அமைந்தது. இந்த ஆலயத்தில் விஷ்ணுவை பாற்கடலில் சயனிக்கும் கோலத்தில் சிலை அமைத்து பூஜிக்கிறார்கள். ஸ்ரீ ரங்கநாதர் தன்னுடன் தாயார் பூதேவி மற்றும் தாயார் ஸ்ரீ தேவியுடன் காட்சி தருகிறார்.
பாவத்தை குறைக்கும் சித்திரகுப்தன் :
ஒருமுறை சரீர ரோகத்தினால் அவதிப்பட்ட சித்ரகுப்தர் விஷ்ணுவை வேண்டிக் கொள்ள அவரை இந்த ஷேத்திரத்தில் வந்து தன்னை பூஜித்தால் ரோகம் தீரும் என்று கூறினார். ஆகவே சித்ரகுப்தர் இங்கு வந்து விஷ்ணுவை துதித்து ரோக நிவாரணம் அடைந்தார். அதற்கு நன்றிக் கடனாக இங்கு வந்து யார் ஸ்ரீ ரங்கநாதரை பூஜிக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு அன்றுவரை இருந்த பாவங்கள் அனைத்தையும் தான் நீக்குவேன் என்றும் உறுதி தந்தார்.

பிரசன்ன வெங்கடேச பெருமாள் கோயில்
கோயிலுக்கு முன் இக்கோயிலின் தீர்த்தமான புண்டரீக தீர்த்தம் உள்ளது . அதை கடந்து போனால் துவஜஸ்தம்பம் உள்ளது . மண்டபத்துடன் கூடிய சிறிய இரண்டு அடுக்கு ராஜகோபுரம் உள்ளது . நாம் உள்ளே போனால் கருடர் சன்னதியை காணலாம் , அவரை தரிசித்து விட்டு முக மண்டபத்தை கடந்து உள்ளே சென்றால் நாம் அர்த்த மண்டபத்தை அடையலாம் , அங்கிருந்து நாம் கருவரையில் எழுந்தருளும் பிரசன்ன வெங்கடேச பெருமாளை தரிசனம் செய்யலாம் .
பெருமாள் சிவனின் ஆவுடையார் மீது நின்ற கோலத்தில் நமக்கு காட்சி தருகிறார் .
சிவனின் ஆவுடையார் மீது பெருமாள் நிற்பது வேறு எங்கும் காணமுடியாத ஒரு தனித்துவமான கோயில் . திருவோண நட்சத்திரக்காரர்கள் வழிபட வேண்டிய கோயில் . பொதுவாக வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி அன்று சொர்க்கவாசல் திறக்கப்பட்டு அதன் வழியே உற்சவமூர்த்தியாக பெருமாள் வந்து பக்தர்களுக்கு காட்சிகொடுப்பார் . ஆனால் இங்கே மூலவருக்கு சொர்க்கவாசலுடன் கூடிய மூன்று வாசல் இருக்கும் , வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி அன்று இந்த சொர்க்கவாசல் திறக்கப்பட்டு நாம் மூலவரேயே தரிசிக்கும் பாக்கியம் கிட்டும் .
அப்படியே நாம் வெளியே வந்தால் வெளி பிரகாரத்தில் தாயார் அலமேலு மங்கை தாயார் , ஆண்டாள் , பாமா ருக்மணியுடன் நவநீத கிருஷ்ணன் ,பக்த ஆஞ்சநேயர் , ஒன்பது நாக தேவதைகள் சன்னதிகளை தரிசிக்கலாம் .
இந்த கோயிலை விஜயநகரத்து கிருஷ்னதேவராயர் காலத்தில் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்டது ஆகும் .
வரலாறு :
வைஷ்ணவ திருத்தலங்களுக்குச் பெருமாளை தரிசனம் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று புண்டரீக மகரிஷி யாத்திரையாகக் கிளம்பினார். வழியெங்கும் உள்ள பெருமாள் கோயில்களைத் தரிசித்துக்கொண்டே வந்தார். இவ்வாறு பல வருடங்களாக தினமும் பெருமாளை தரிசனம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தார் . அப்படி வந்து கொண்டிருந்த போது, இந்த கிராமத்துக்குச் சென்றார். இந்த ஆலயம் வந்து உள்ளே சென்று பார்த்தவர் அதிர்ந்து போனார். ஆம் இக்கோயில் சிவாலயம்.
சிவலிங்கத்தைக் கண்டுதான் ஆச்சரிய அதிர்ச்சி. அடடா… பெருமாள் கோயிலென்று நினைத்து, சிவன் கோயிலுக்கு வந்துவிட்டோமே’ என்று கிளம்பினார்.
அப்போது, அவருக்கு எதிரே முதியவர் ஒருவர் வந்தார். அந்த முதியவரிடம் ‘இங்கே பெருமாள் கோயில் இருக்கிறதா?’ என்று கேட்டார். ‘நீங்கள் இப்போது வந்தீர்களே… இதுதான் பெருமாள் கோயில்’ என்றார் முதியவர். ‘என்ன பெரியவரே குழப்புகிறீர்கள்? இது சிவன் கோயிலாயிற்றே’ என்றார்.
‘வாருங்கள், கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று காட்டுகிறேன், இது பெருமாள் கோயில்தான்’’ என்ற முதியவர் விறுவிறுவென கோயிலை நோக்கி நடந்தார். மகரிஷியும் பின் தொடர்ந்தார்.
கருவறைக்குள் நுழைந்த முதியவர், ஆவுடையாரின் மீது நின்றார். பெருமாளாகவே திருக்காட்சி தந்தார். ’வந்தது சிவபெருமானா? ஆஹா’ என்று மெய்சிலிர்த்தவர், சாஷ்டாங்கமாக நமஸ்கரித்தார். ‘சிவம் வேறு விஷ்ணு வேறு இல்லை’ என உணர்த்தினார். ‘ஹரியும் சிவனும் ஒன்று’ எனும் தத்துவத்தை விளக்கிய அந்தத் திருத்தலத்தில், மகாவிஷ்ணு, திருப்பாற்கடலில் உள்ளது போலவே, மூன்று திருக்கோலங்களிலும் திருக்காட்சி தந்தருளினார்.
புண்டரீக மகரிஷிக்காக, பெருமாள் பிரசன்னமானார். அதனால் பிரசன்ன வேங்கடேச பெருமாள் எனும் திருநாமம் கொண்டார். அந்தத் தலம் ‘திருப்பாற்கடல்’ என்றே இன்றைக்கும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
அருகருகே இரண்டு கோயில்களை தரிசிக்கும் பாக்கியம் இந்த தலத்தில் நமக்கு கிட்டும் . அதுமட்டும் இல்லாமல் சிறப்பான ஆவுடையார் மேல் உள்ள பெருமாள் மற்றும் அத்தி மரத்திலான பெருமாள் என இரண்டு பெருமாளை நாம் தரிசிக்கலாம் .
