காஞ்சிபுரம் என்றாலே கோயில்கள் அதிகம் கொண்ட ஒரு புண்ணிய தலம் என்று சொல்லலாம் . 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 15 பெருமாள் கோயில்கள் , 276 தேவரா பாடல் பெற்ற சிவ தலங்களில் 5 சிவ தலங்கள் , கருணையே வடிவான காமாட்சி அம்மன் கோயில் , கோயில்கலைகளுக்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டாக விளங்கும் கைலாசநாதர் கோயில் , வைகுண்டநாத பெருமாள் கோயில் , ஜுரகேஸ்வரர் கோயில் என எல்லா விதமான கோயில்களும் இத்தலத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது .
தேவார பாடல் பெற்ற 276 சிவ தலங்களில் 237 வது தலமும், தொண்டைநாட்டு தலங்களில் 4 வது தலமாகவும் இந்த திருக்கச்சி அனேகதங்காவதேஸ்வரர் கோயில் அமைந்துள்ளது .
அனேகதம் என்றால் யானை என்று பொருள். யானை முகம் கொண்ட விநாயகப்பெருமானால் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வழிபடப்பட்ட திருத்தலம் என்ற பொருளில் அனேகதங்காபதம் என்றும், இதே பெயர் கொண்ட இமயமலையைச் சார்ந்த வட நாட்டுத் திருக்கோயிலிலிருந்து வேறுபடுத்தி அறிய கச்சி சேர்க்கப்பட்டு கச்சி அனேகதங்காவதம் என்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டது. குபேரன் வழிபட்ட திருத்தலம். காஞ்சி புராணத்தில் இத்திருக்கோயில் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் உள்ளன.
விநாயகர், வல்லபையை மணம் முடித்த தலம் என்றாலும் இங்கு தனிச்சன்னதியில் விநாயகர் மட்டுமே இருக்கிறார். அவருடன் வல்லபை இல்லை. திருமணத்தடை உள்ளவர்கள் இவருக்கு அருகம்புல் சாத்தி, நைவேத்யங்கள் படைத்து வழிபடுகிறார்கள். இதனால் விரைவில் திருமணம் நடக்கும் என நம்புகின்றனர்.
சாலையின் வலது புறத்தில் கோயிலின் வளைவு உள்ளது , அங்கிருந்து பார்த்தால் பிரமாண்டமான கைலாசநாதர் கோயில் நமக்கு நன்றாக தெரியும் . வளைவு வழியாக உள்ளே சென்றால் சிறிய கோபுரத்துடன் கூடிய நுழைவு வாயிலை நாம் காணலாம் . கோயிலின் வலது புறத்தில் கோயிலின் குளம் உள்ளது . கோயிலின் வாயிலை கடந்து உள்ளே சென்றால் கோயிலின் விசாலமான இடத்தை நாம் காணலாம் . கோயிலின் உள் மரங்கள் மற்றும் பூ செடிகளால் மிக அற்புதமான நந்தவனம் போல் அமைத்துள்ளார் . இவ் இடத்தில நடு நாயகனாக கோயிலின் சன்னதியை நாம் காணலாம் . சன்னதியின் முன் பலிபீடம் மற்றும் நந்தி மண்டபத்தை நாம் தரிசிக்கலாம் . உள்ளே சென்றால் இறைவன் பெரிய லிங்க திருமேனியாக வட்ட வடிவ ஆவுடையாரில் நமக்கு காட்சி தருகிறார் . காஞ்சி காமாட்சி அம்மனே காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் உள்ள எல்லா சிவனுக்குரிய அம்பாள் என்பதால், இங்கு அம்பாளுக்கு சன்னதி இல்லை.
கோஷ்டத்தில் தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி, விநாயகர், பிரம்மா மற்றும் துர்க்கை உள்ளனர். தெற்கு வெளிப் பிரகாரத்தில் தேவார மூவர் சந்நிதியைக் காணலாம். மேற்கு வெளிப் பிரகாரத்தில் தென்மேற்குப் பகுதியில் விநாயகர் சந்நிதியும், வடமேற்குப் பகுதியில் வள்ளி தெய்வானையுடன் உள்ள ஸ்ரீசுப்பிரமணியர் சந்நிதி ஆகியவற்றைக் காணலாம்.
வரலாறு :
குபேரன், தன் முற்பிறவியில் செய்த புண்ணியபலனால், அருந்தமனின் மகனாப்பிறந்து, அளகைக்கு அரசனானான். அசுரகுருவான சுக்கிரன், அவன் மீது பொறாமை கொண்டு தொல்லைகள் கொடுத்தான். எனவே, இங்கு சிவனை வேண்டி தன்னை காக்கும்படி வேண்டினான் குபேரன். சிவன், அவனுக்காக சுக்கிரனை விழுங்கி அவனது கர்வத்தை அடக்கினார்.
பிரம்மாவின் புத்திரராகிய மரீசி மகரிஷி, தடாகத்தில் நீராடச்சென்றபோது, நீரிலிருந்த தாமரை மலரில் ஒரு குழந்தையைக் கண்டார். குழந்தைக்கு “வல்லபை’ என பெயரிட்டு வளர்த்து வந்தார்.சிவபக்தையாக இருந்த அவளை இரண்ய அசுரனான கேசி பிடித்துச் சென்றான். வல்லபை, தன்னை காத்தருளும்படி சிவனிடம் வேண்டினாள். சிவன், விநாயகரை அனுப்பி வல்லபையை மீட்டுவர எண்ணினார். அப்போது அம்பிகை சிவனிடம், விநாயகன் அசுரர்களை அழித்து வெற்றி பெற அருள் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றாள். சிவன், இத்தலத்தில் தன்னை வணங்கிவிட்டு சென்றிட அசுரர்களை வெற்றி கொள்ள வலிமை உண்டாகும் என்றார். விநாயகரும் அசுரர்களை அழிக்க செல்லும்முன்பு, இவ்விடத்தில் லிங்க பிரதிஷ்டை செய்து வழிபட்டார். பின், வல்லபையை மீட்டு வந்தார். சிவன், அம்பாள் இருவரும் விநாயகருக்கு இத்தலத்திலேயே வல்லபையை மணம் முடித்து வைத்தனர்.
பிராத்தனை :
விநாயகப் பெருமானால் வழிபடப்பட்ட அநேகதங்காபதேஸ்வரரை வழிபடுவர்கள் கொடிய துன்பமாகிய பிறவித்துயர் தீர்ந்து இறைவன் உறையும் திருக்கயிலாயத்தை அடைந்து அங்கு தங்கும் பேற்றினைப் பெறுவர் என்று காஞ்சிப் புராணம் கூறுகிறது.திருமணத்தடை உள்ளவர்கள் இங்குள்ள விநாயகருக்கு அருகம்புல் சாத்தி, நைவேத்யங்கள் படைத்து வழிபடுகிறார்கள். இதனால் விரைவில் திருமணம் நடக்கும் என நம்புகின்றனர்.

காஞ்சிபுரம் பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் இருந்து சுமார் 3 km தொலைவில் உள்ளது . கைலாசநாதர் கோயிலின் முன்பாக உள்ளது . காமாட்சி அம்மன் கோயில் இருந்து கட்சயப்பர் கோயில் வழியாக வலது புறம் திரும்பி செல்லவேண்டும் .
English:
Kanchipuram can be said to be a sacred place with many temples. 15 Perumal Temples out of 108 Divya Desams, 5 Shiva Temples out of 276 Devara Songs, Kamatshi Amman Temple which is the form of mercy, Kailasanathar Temple which is an example of temple arts, Vaikundanatha Perumal Temple, Jurakeswarar Temple are located in this thalam.
This Thirukkachi Anegadangavadeswarar temple is located as the 237th place among the 276 Shiva temples and the 4th place among Thondainattu temples.
Anegadam means elephant. Anegadangapatam means a shrine built and worshiped by the elephant-faced Lord Vinayaka, and to distinguish it from the northern Himalayan temple of the same name, Kachi was added and called Kachi Anegadangavatam. The shrine where Kubera was worshipped. There are references to this temple in the Kanji Purana.
Although Vinayaka is the place where Vallabhai was blessed, there is only Vinayaka in Tanichannadi here. Vallabhi is not with him. People who are barred from marriage worship him by making sacthi and naivedyams. They believe that marriage will happen soon.
On the right side of the road is the bend of the temple, from where we can see the huge Kailasanathar temple. Entering through the arch we can see the entrance gate with a small tower. On the right side of the temple is the temple pond. If we go inside the gate of the temple, we can see the spacious area of the temple. The interior of the temple is made like a wonderful Nandavan with trees and flower plants. In this place we can see the shrine of the temple as the central character. In front of the shrine we can visit the altar and the Nandi Mandapam. If we go inside, the Lord gives us a view as a big Linga Thirumeni in a circular robe. As Kanchi Kamachi Amman is the Ambal of all Shivas in Kanchipuram, there is no shrine for Ambal here.
The Koshtha consists of Dakshinamurthy, Ganesha, Brahma and Durga. In the southern outer prakaram, you can see the Sannidhi of three Devaras. In the western outer prakaram, the Vinayagar Sannidhi can be found on the southwest side and the Srisubramaniar Sannidhi with Valli Deivanai on the northwest side.
History:
Kubera was born as the son of Arundhaman and became the king of Alagai due to his merits in his previous birth. Sukra, the demon, was jealous of him and gave him trouble. Hence, Kubera prayed to Shiva here to protect him. Lord Shiva subdued his pride by swallowing Venus for him.
When Marishi Maharishi, the son of Brahma, went to bathe in the lake, he saw a child in a lotus flower in the water. She named the child “Vallabhai” and brought her up. She was a devotee of Lord Shiva and was captured by the demon Kesi. Vallabhai begged Shiva to protect her. Shiva sent Vinayaka to retrieve Vallabhai. Then Ambigai said to Shiva that Vinayaka should grant him the grace to destroy the demons and win. Shiva, in this temple, He said that worshiping him will give him strength to defeat the Asuras. Before Vinayaka went to destroy the Asuras, he consecrated the Linga and worshiped at this place. Then he brought Vallabhai back. Both Shiva and Ambal offered Vinayaka the scent of Vallabhai at this place.
Prayer:
According to the Kanchip Purana, those who worship the Lord Vinayaka, who worships the Lord Vinayaka, will get rid of the terrible suffering of birth and reach the Tirukailayam, where the Lord resides. They believe that marriage will happen soon.
