- த்ரேதாயுகத்தை சார்ந்த கோயிலாகும் .ஸ்ரீராமரால் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்ட சிவலிங்கம் ஆகும் ,மிக பழமையான புராணத்துடன் தொடர்புடைய கோயிலாகும் .
- இங்குள்ள முக்தீஸ்வரரை வணங்கினால் உடனே முக்தி கிடைக்கும் என்பதால் இவருக்கு முக்தீஸ்வரர் என்ற பெயர் ஏற்பட்டது .
- மிக சிறிய வடிவில் ஆனா சிவ லிங்கம் ஆகும் . இங்குள்ள தூண்கள் மிக அழகாக மற்றும் நிறைய அமைத்துள்ளார்கள்.
- இவ் ஊர் கோதாவரி ஆற்றின் கிளை நதியான கௌதமி ஆற்றின் அருகில் அமைந்துள்ளது .

Muktheswaram is a village in Ainavilli mandal, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Mukteswaram is a historical shrine mentioned in puranas.this temple is on the bond Godavari river. The river one of the rote from Godavari.
According to Ramayana lord shriram returned from Srilanka in pushpaka vimanam he saw a bright shivalinga then he prayed lord shiva and ask lord shiva stay here. Lord shiva appears infront of the devotee and give to Mukthi in fraction of seconds. So here the lord shiva called Muktheswara swamy.
The architecture was simply fascinating and gigantic. Temple have lot of pillars.
